Building a Personal Brand in the AI Age
In a world where algorithms often make the first impression, your digital presence matters more than ever. Here’s how to stand out:
Optimize your LinkedIn profile with keywords relevant to your target roles.

We have a separate blog on how to optimize your profile as your electronic resume, be sure to check that out!
Every post is an opportunity to demonstrate your depth of knowledge. Leave no doubt in your reader’s mind that you understand your field—and that you're already thinking like the leader you aspire to become.
Engage in online communities that are created for those in your industry, possibly with the same job title or interests. For example, medical office manager groups, IT infrastructure, etc.Provide your advice on current topics, share best practices, and be sure to ask the right questions.
Post regularly, but not too much! You don't want your audience thinking that you're always on social media, but you also want to keep them engaged. Find the right balance for your industry! Share about your activities and day! Post pictures and throw a video every once in a while. And I know, so Millennial of me, come up with a tag line that defines you! That's why I throw #lsconsultingservices everywhere! 😆

Create social media accounts appropriate for your field. For example, if you're a plumber, chances are that LinkedIn is not going to be as useful for you, but Facebook might.
Stay committed! This is for the long run; you won't build a brand overnight.
Create a portfolio that showcases your projects, certifications, and growth. This is a perfect opportunity to include those in your LinkedIn profile. Be sure to leave your audience with no doubt that you are an expert in your field.
Lastly, stay connected! Develop a network you can tap into if need be. Surround yourself with more folks who are already doing it right. After all, who you surround yourself with has a powerful impact on who you become!
